Te Tira Ahu Pae welcomes a new team of Student Representatives for 2025

Following our Elections earlier this year, we are very pleased to announce our new team of Student Reps for 2025!

Student Reps represent the interests of students at Massey University, and proactively look for opportunities to improve student life and address student needs. They collaborate with Massey to recognise and directly involve students’ ideas, experiences, questions and concerns into decisions at all levels from course development to service delivery.

Student Representatives are chosen via a mixture of appointments (for Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Alliance Group positions) and elections (for all other Student Rep positions).

Te Tira Ahu Pae typically has a Tripartite structure, with three Presidents: General/Distance, Manawhakahaere (Māori), and Pasifika. These Presidents hold equal authority and are self-determined to represent and lead Student Representatives from their cohort. This year, the Pasifika presidency has been split into two half-time Co-President roles.

Each campus has a Vice-President who leads, coordinates and supports the Student Representatives at each location. Each physical campus has a General Student Rep, Kaiwhakahaere (Māori Student Rep), and Pasifika Student Rep. The Distance cohort has three General Reps and one Kaiwhakahaere - Māori and Pasifika Rep, in recognition that over 50% of students studying at Massey do so by distance. There is also one International Student Rep and one Post-Grad Student Rep, as well as four Disability Student Reps and four Rainbow Student Reps through our alliance groups.

To meet the new team, head to our Meet the Student Reps page of our website.
