International students raise money for Myanmar Earthquake relief
On the 28th of March 2025, a powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake rocked Myanmar, levelling homes, schools, hospitals, and entire neighbourhoods.
More than 2800 people have died and over 4500 have been injured, with numbers expected to rise exponentially as many remain trapped under rubble. Thousands have lost their homes and livelihoods. Many historical landmarks, ancient temples and buildings of significant cultural heritage have suffered severe damage.
This catastrophe has left entire communities in shock, grief, and uncertainty. Myanmar needs urgent support to provide food, shelter, medical aid, and long-term rebuilding efforts.
With support from Te Tira Ahu Pae, international students at Massey University’s Albany campus are working to help raise money for those in urgent need. Click the link below to donate via GraceWorks’ fundraiser. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
