I'm Akbar Miah, a Massey University Master of Professional Accountancy student with a solid background in bookkeeping, cash management, and accounting that I developed via coursework and practical experience in retail and chartered accounting firms. I truly enjoy helping people, speaking clearly, and serving as a link between students and staff to enhance university life and learning, which is why I want to be a student representative. I will use my understanding of accountability, confidentiality, and the value of accurate information—skills I will bring to fairly and professionally representing student voices—to my work with clients, managing daily cash flows, and supporting audit and tax documentation. Throughout my term, I want to make feedback more accessible, make both local and international students feel heard, and support real-world projects that improve student wellbeing and academic support.
