I am currently a Master of Applied Social Work student at Massey University, Albany, and have recently been selected as a Class Representative for my cohort. As an international student from Bangladesh, I bring lived experience of adapting to a new academic, cultural, and social environment in Aotearoa New Zealand. Alongside my professional background in marketing and extensive volunteer involvement in community and social advocacy work, I have developed strong communication, leadership, and cross-cultural engagement skills.

I am applying for the International Student Representative role because I am passionate about supporting and advocating for the diverse international student community. Transitioning to a new country often comes with academic, social, and wellbeing challenges, and I want to help ensure international students feel heard, supported, and included within university decision-making processes.

During my term, I hope to strengthen communication between international students and the university, promote inclusivity and wellbeing initiatives, and help create a welcoming environment where students from all backgrounds feel connected, represented, and empowered to succeed.
