Talofa Lava!My name is Tammy Faitoai Tofa, I am Samoan, and I am a second-year Psychology student based in Wellington. I want to be a Pasifika Student Representative because I care about making sure our voices are heard and our culture is celebrated at school.
I have been actively involved in supporting our community by helping Sosefina and Ferina with cooking food for Kai and Talanoa. I often stay late to help, drive Sosefina to do shopping. I even volunteered my house for cooking since it’s close to uni and we currently don’t have a kitchen on campus. I have also helped with Kava Night by preparing food.
I hope to create a space where Pasifika students feel supported, connected, and proud of who they are. I want to help organise events, share opportunities, and make it easier for students to have their ideas listened to. I am approachable, a good listener, and passionate about making a difference for our community. My goal is to help students feel confident, supported, and proud of being Samoan and Pasifika while succeeding in their studies.
