Talofa Lava,

My name is Leonora Sasagi, I am a proud Samoan from the villages of Malie and Salailua, Falealupo, Vaisala in Savai'i. I have been involved with MUPSA since I started my academic journey at Massey.

As a student I have always been engaged with Pasifika events and services. My long-term involvement has shaped my knowledge and appreciation for the operations that continue behind-the-scenes for the student community.

Being a part of these spaces has shown me how important Pasifika representation is - not only in advocating for our collective needs, but also in ensuring that the systems around us remain culturally grounded and empowering. My experience of how Fale operates and how Pasifika students engage is not just limited to the Manawatu space, but also the Auckland and Wellington campuses through combined sports nohos and EOY Camp.

I believe this role would serve as a personal token to the community that contributed to my academic, social, and cultural wellbeing. If appointed, I hope to achieve the following:

- retain engagement from Pasifika students,

- Improving access to academic and wellbeing support,

- refining Pasifika student's knowledge of political awareness to better position ourselves within the university,

- and the continuation in honouring the diversity of Pasifika students on our campus.
