Hey! My name's Laura and I am applying for the student rep/RA position because I am driven by a simple goal: to ensure every student feels they belong to a community, rather than just a building. I love the energy of making new connections, but more importantly, I find genuine fulfillment in being the person others can lean on during the highs and lows of university life! A good Ra is a great leader and listener. I bring an energetic , efficient approach to running things whether that be organizing events or quality communication- but I lead with kindness first . Im not afraid to take charge when a situation requires a firm hand, yet I pride myself on being approachable enough that a resident would feel comfortable knocking on my door at any time. An Ra is only as strong as the team behind them. In working with my fellow Ras I hope to achieve a culture of quality collaboration. Share the load and bounce ideas of one another. I aim to get the teammate who keeps spirits high during busy periods and ensure collective goals are met and with a sense of humour! I want a good team environment where we support each other as much as we support our residents , to create a stable, welcoming, vibrant atmosphere for all students on campus.
