Hi!

I am Nafis Kazi, standing for Postgraduate Student Representative to serve and advocate for our entire postgrad community.

I’m currently studying a Master of Finance (Financial Technology) here at Massey, originally from Bangladesh. I’m a people-first person who loves bringing folks together and speaking up for others. My journey is built on diverse leadership experience across multiple sectors: I served as President of my Debate Club in both school and university, held the role of Elder Prefect on my school's prefectorial board, and have led initiatives across non-profits, fast-paced startups, and multinational corporations. These varied environments taught me how to communicate effectively, manage complex teams, and drive real results.

Postgraduate study comes with unique pressures—we aren't just tackling advanced coursework, but often balancing heavy jobs, family commitments, and financial strains alongside our degrees. Having faced these hurdles directly, I am ready to step up and make concrete changes for our student body:

  • Work-Life & Study Flexibility: Pushing for academic support structures that actively account for postgrads managing jobs and family responsibilities.
  • Career & Growth Pathways: Empowering postgrads with practical insights to align their skill set with current industry standards.
  • Funding & Research Access: Expanding visibility and access to postgraduate scholarships, research opportunities, and academic grants.
  • Regular Student Catch-ups: Hosting periodic check-ins specifically for postgrads so I can listen directly to your emerging challenges and take swift action on your feedback.

Cast your vote for Nafis to give me the opportunity to serve, support, and represent you all!
