Hi!

I’m Junyu Tao, an international PhD student at Massey University. I am currently studying in New Zealand, previously studied in the UK, and have professional experience working for a major company in China. These experiences have given me opportunities to adapt to different academic, cultural and working environments, and to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

I am applying to be the International Student Representative because I understand that studying abroad involves much more than academic work. International students often need to navigate unfamiliar university processes, adapt to a new culture and everyday life, and communicate in an environment that may be very different from home.

If elected, I would like to help international students access information and support more easily, improve communication between students and the university, and make it easier for students to raise concerns and share suggestions. Most importantly, I would listen to students from different backgrounds and represent their views clearly and fairly.
