I’m Mrigank, a Master of Finance (FinTech) student at Massey Albany, originally from Bhopal, India. Before landing in Auckland this year, I spent a good chunk of time on the other side of the process chasing visa updates, sorting enrollment extensions, figuring out flatting and I know exactly how it feels to be stuck between emails with no clear person to ask. That’s a big part of why I want to be a Student Rep.

I’m currently Treasurer of our social student club, which has taught me a lot about actually reaching students, not just emailing them into the void. Between organising events, chasing people down for RSVPs, and getting quieter students to show up and talk, I’ve picked up a good sense of how to bring people together and keep them engaged. I’d bring that same energy to the role clearer info at the pre-arrival stage, more social touch points early on, and a direct line to the international office when things go sideways.
